Firefly Tote



An easy to use tote and project bag! The tote size is perfect for a day trip or a work bag, and the project size is great for knitting or crochet projects, or as a lunch bag! Both sizes feature a fun drawstring closure and an interior slip pocket. A handy front pocket with an additional zippered pocket makes this tote super functional!

Features:

  • two sizes to sew! "Project" size is the smaller of the two, "Tote" size is the larger.

Skill Level: Intermediate
Skill Details: Confident Beginner/Intermediate. Must have working knowledge of your sewing machine, such as how to thread the needle, wind a bobbin, put on various pressor feet.
Requirements:
Firefly Tote pattern ($11.00)

Prior to class: After purchasing the required supplies (see supply list on back of pattern), you'll need to cut out all the pieces then prep. any that require Fusible Woven Interfacing (SF101) or Med. Wt. Fusible (fusible fleece). Use the labels that are supplied in the pattern (you may wish to make a copy) and pin them onto the pieces that you've prepared. Please have all of these steps completed so that you will be able to put your bag together on class day. If you need help with preparation, call the shop and to set up a day with Marian or Margaret to assist you!

Bring to class:
Sewing machine in good, working order
Zipper Foot
Topstitch foot (helpful, not required)
Matching or contrasting thread
Marking pencil

Instructor: Mare Cipolla
Instructor Bio: Marian Cipolla started sewing garments for herself and her baby sister when she was 8 years old. She learned to quilt in 1981, has done lots with helping Girls Scouts learn to sew and hasn't stopped since. She loves being creative and likes sharing her time and talents with others.
